Beautiful Japanese cherry blossom along Ooka river Koganecho

Last Sunday, 27th March I decided to take a break from planning next month’s English lessons and went for a long walk along the Ooka river to see the early cherry blossom, it was incredibly beautiful and not so busy.

This is not my usual walk, but as the cherry blossom looked lovely, I made a split decision to walk along the river. My route started from Koganecho Station, and I headed towards Bashamichi Station, near Sakuragicho. Along the way there were a variety of market stalls selling street food and snacks but unfortunately the Full Monty British Pub and Cider House was closed. (https://www.facebook.com/Full-Monty-British-Pub-Cider-House-297292743622561). Therefore, I started walking back towards Gumyoji Station whilst listening to a Japanese band playing music in the background and I enjoyed watching the people experiencing paddle boarding on the river, it looked fun and I’m sure their view of the blossom was the best. I will may try this experience next year. It seemed very reasonable at 3,500 JPY plus insurance (https://en.activityjapan.com/publish/plan/25713).

The cherry blossom was not in full bloom, therefore next weekend would be better, but it was nice to walk along the river without the crowds of people. Please see the photo’s I took during my walk and hopefully you can enjoy the experience too.
